Garden Jobs for February

1. Buy seed potatoes and put them in trays to chit.
2. On a fine dry day clean out your garden shed and get rid of any accumulated rubbish.
3. Cut back to the ground autumn fruiting raspberries.
4. Cut back hedges before birds start nesting.
5. Put fleece over Peaches and Nectarines to stop water splashing up and reduce peach leaf curl.
6. Take hardwood cuttings of deciduous shrubs
7. Trim and make up lawn edges.
8. Scarify and spike established lawns.
9. On a fine day clean out and disinfect the greenhouse.
10. Go round and see that tree ties are not cutting into the bark and loosen if necessary.
